How Can I Make The Fass Fuel Pump Quiet_er?

I Have the 95 g.p.h. fass fuel pump installed on my 05 ram. This thing humms so loud. Has anyone placed rubber bushings between the pump mount and the frame of the truck to quiet the pump? Any suggestions?

Put a vibration deadening rubber pad underneath the bracket that goes to the frame. Just doing the o-ring quietened mine down some, but I'll do the bracket when I get time.

In the mean time, do like I do.....turn the radio up.

I read somewhere that a guy put foam tape everywhere. Seeing you have a 05, did you use the bigger pick up tube. I heard that will quite them down as well. I heard a guy's 150 pump and that was really loud.

Install a larger pickup tube in the fuel tank from FASS,it runs about $50 bucks extra.I had one installed with my Fass system (150 gph) made a world of difference.coobie

I would not insulate it. This will cause it to hold in to much heat. I have also heard of installing a different (longer) pickup inside the fuel tank as some of the noise is calvaltation.

Guys, if these are good pumps why don't you get some info together and lets share it. I could care less if the Walbro or Bosch or FASS or RASP or whatever pump is better. But with the number of lift pump failures on Dodges, I think there should be a lift pump shootout so that people know how these things compare on price, build, quality, flow, pressure, etc.

It isn't enough to say "flows more than FASS" because NO pump flow can be compared without knowing the pressure it is quoted at.

FWIW, the Walbro on my truck and the stock Bosch on 99+ Superduties sit in a steel cradle lined with foam. Both of these pumps are cooled by fuel, not air, so ventilation isn't an issue.

I'll do what I can to get flow rates and pressures together for the RASP.

Just thought I might beat that horse and see if any info on the msrp pricing and flow ratings and so forth were ever figured in another thread that I skipped while I was searching. The RASP, FASS, AIRDOG & WALBRO seem to be the most contraversial.
