Talking How can I make a 160hp pump crazy?

Is there any way or anybody that can make a 160hp pump make about 500 hp? If I can't make 500hp with that pump, what can I make?

If you don't want to tell me how I can move that much fuel, can you direct me to someone that can?

I know that a turbo and injectors are a necessity to make that kind of horsepower. My main concern is if my current pump is no where near capable of that hp level, I need to adjust my budget to get a "good" pump.

If my goal is too far out there with my current pump, let me know.

Adjust your budget to get a better pump. Or gut that pump and install all the good parts to make it rock!

Don,

Any idea how many $ I should set aside to address my pump issue. Should I have someone like Columbus Diesel do some pump work for me? Or should I send it to you or Piers?

I believe Piers uses the 160 (gutted) to make the stoopid pump....

Piers is the P-pump guy.

Piers may be the ultimate p-pump tuner, but I've never seen a Columbus diesel tuned pump run poorly. Plus, you can walk in there at anytime and ask them questions instead of waiting for parts from clear across the country. I walked into CDS the first time and asked the bearing tolerance for a HX40. They sent their turbo guy out and we talked for a half an hour. The coolest thing is the entire salesroom wall is covered with pulling tractors and trucks with their parts inside.

OTOH, everytime I've called Piers I've also chatted for a half hour. Very knowledgeable sales staff and seriously knows their stuff. I'd call both Piers and CDS.

I'd have a hard time choosing too. Some help I turned out to be.

I'm just sitting in the house reading these threads waiting for "CHARLEY" to hit. My house is only about 1-1/2 miles from the ocean (might not be too much fun today! )

Will a 160 pump with 191 dvs and 3000gsk support a set of 370's
What is a stoopid pump?
What does it cost?
What kind of HP will it support?

Hold your breath, a Piers modified P-7100 pump will set you back over $3000, with core return. The most I've heard of someone getting out of one is over 600hp.

Best of luck with Charlie

These are the questions that inquiring minds want to know!! I guess I'll have to give Piers and Columbus Diesel a call.

Is a stoopid pump the same as their race pump? They list all different kinds of p-7100 pumps on their web site but only list their race pump with a price $3100.00 What other pumps are out there on the market?
What will the my 160 pump support? Thanks "infidel" for your help.

Yes, notice it's part number is PSP-7100. I'll let you figure out what the PSP stands for.

Stupid pump is slang for all 12 valve pumps as compared to the computer controlled 24 valve pump.
In this case stupid is better

I'm getting an easy 250-275 hp out of my stock 160 pumps. I would venture to say with just delivery valves you could probably eek out close to 400hp with a 160

Piers!

Stoopid pump is not just slang for a 12v pump..... A PDR stoopid pump is a p-7100 that has been modified and tuned by Piers. I know this pump can support over 900 HP!
