high idle problem

just bought a second 06 dodge it runs great but when it sits and idles and goes into high idle revs up and down a friend said that's from a vacum leak
any ideas what causes this ?

Its normal for the motor to go into high idle if its cold and idles for too long. The motor is trying to stay warm.

Yeah I goes into high idle then starts to fluctuate so badly it rocks the truck.
my outher 06 goes into high idle after a few minutes to stay warm but just revs at a constant rpm.
