High EGT's / dyno

Hey Guys,

I want to take my truck down the quarter mile, however, I'm a little reluctant as I can hit 1400-1500 pretty easily. What should my nexy step be?
Twins? Water/meth?

By the way, I put the truck on the dyno and made 450HP and 780 ft. lbs. I believe I should be able to squeeze a little more out of it, but I can't stop the tranny from downshifting during the pull.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Are you running the 4.11 tune that is available on the website?

Good question. I believe so, as I just purchased it a couple of months ago.

Definitely double check. The 4.11 tunes run super cool. And unless you are running some beta and have a full built trans/clutch, the 4.11 are the tunes to run. I was shocked at how much cooler my truck ran with the 4.11 compared to my old Superchips, Diablo Predator, and the standard Smarty tune that came in the unit.

Cool, I am curious since I want your turbo and I am guessing that turbo and a smarty are really cool runners. How free is your exhaust & intake?

with your turbo I would say that you probably have a beta tune. plug it in and post your numbers and we can help you out with what tune you have.

I plugged the Smarty in, and it is the 4.11B version. It also says 'D2.11B"

My intake is an AEM, which I am about to switch out, and the exhaust is a 5" turbo back Magnaflow.

I am running the 4.11/2.11 right now. It is a real cool runner. I wonder why the heck you are running hot? Especially with that intercooler & that turbo. I wonder if your gauge is accurate. What are you when you cruise down the fwy?

I was curious about the accuracy of the gauge as well. Running down the freeway at 65mph, I am around 850 degrees.
