As far as HID lighting goes, I would love to get a kit for my truck because I honestly think on the backroads the stock lighting on my truck is almost dangerous, it is absolutely horrible at night. My only concern on HID lighting kits is that I have been told that without a projector the HID systems throw light out everywhere not really working the way they are suppose to in the factory headlamp units, also most systems I have looked at only have low beam and no high beam. What is everyones else opinion on the projector and no high beam ?? And No I am not old and half blind LOL I have the silverstars in my truck now, and I honestly dont think they are worth the money and hassle of changing, they may have made a little difference but not enough.

thanks

You wont find a high beam HID due to the fact that HID's take awhile to warm up.. Even on the cars that come with factory HID's they all have regular high beams like say a 9005 or 9006 i cant remember which is a high beam..

IN my 05 i am running violet HID's 9007's for my head lights and violet HID 9006's in my fogs and ****..

I use to run TruViews in both and liked them alot, way better then SilverStars..

How do you like the HIDs in your truck headlights ?? I am really wanting to switch over to HIDs but I am not sure exactly what I need as far as bulbs go or do I need an entire new housing for each lamp ? Where did you purchase yours and how was the install ??

thanks

They have the duals now, which do have the Hi Beam, they're just "duel" the price

I got mine from a place called PlasmaGarage, but when i got mine they had way more bulbs..

At the time i paid $350 for each set..

I like them there bright as can be, i get bright lighted all the time, but i dont care.. I live in South Texas in the middle of no where so i gotta be on the look out for Hogs, Deer, and anything else that wants to pop out..

Did you just get the type that fit in your stock headlamp assembly ?? I am assuming it is just ballasts and a new bulb. I was wondering how the lighting looks compared to the stock color at night. I live out in the boondocks so I have deer and everything else to watch out for.

i think i covered most of this in my posts...do a search for HID...

if you have HID in your 04/05, you could just buy new HID bulbs and use the existing ballast.

Yeah try a search or go to the link I posted earlier in this thread. They sell Hi/Lo HID kits for $295. If you worried about the whole projector HID thing then buy Dodge Ram Projector Headlights on ebay for $120 and the a H1 HID kit for $225 and call it good. All this info is out there I you know how to use SEARCH features.

OK that's my free info 4 the day

Getting ready to install HID's in my fogs. I almost always run the fogs with the low beams anyway. Should add a good amount of light.
Used the place Dan recommended. Hid-lights.com
I post a new thread after the install.
