D45 has a '04 (guessing it's a 555) which runs cooler than the 600's. Mine rarely gets above 1000 with the Smarty REVO.

Man, I can hit 1300 pretty easy with my big trailer and I hit 1400 the few times I ran it in the 1/4 and that was Revo on SW7. Now with the MP-8 added in, 1400 is easy. I need to do this swap for now until I decide if I want a much bigger turbo.

Smarty SR, Level 7, POD #99, #2 rail pressure.....

The pyro is in the stock manifold, on the rear portion of the manifold, which I was told catches the hottest temps.....

I am hoping with the addition of a new turbo and the ATS Pulse Flow manifold, that I can drop egts 100-150 degree.....

Well, really, your temps are nice and low so I don't know why you are trying to lower them even more...
Nothing wrong with a nice efficient engine though....

yeah , he is in great shape, I think he needs flux 2's , his exhaust manifold might catch cold at those temps !

Ron,

Are you using a boost elbow?

Not really trying to lower them more, just know if might be a by-product of adding a different turbo and installing an ATS Pulse Flow

Ok.........well I took some pics of the stock turbo and what appears to be a stock elbow.

The 5" MBRP exhaust seems to be welded to a small, in length, exhaust 'downpipe', which is clamped to the elbow.

The small piece might be what MBRP called a 'downpipe', which is maybe 2" long and appears to just be clamped to the stock elbow.

What do you guys think:

Ummm yeah.....welcome to NW Indiana!

If I am able to get the 04.5-07 elbow to fit, it is going to be ceramic coated silver, to match my ATS Pulse Flow manifold

Yup, that thing looks like it's been submerged in salty water.... LOL

That is the downpipe that bolts to the elbow but the whole thing is the downpipe, not just the 2-3" piece at the top. That piece at the top is just the flange that they put on a generic DP so that it fits an 03-04 truck. If you bought a system for a later truck then the DP would be exactly the same but the flange would be larger.
IMO, that is a lot of money for that manifold, which is gonna give you minimal gains, unless you plan on making big power down the road....

Are you talking about the exhaust manifold?

I got the ATS Pulse Flow used, for about $275 and spent another $125 on it, getting it covered in silver high temp ceramic.....I am glad I bought it, because I will have a new turbo within 4 weeks and since everything will be taken apart anyways, I wanted to upgrade at the same time.

Well, there's definitely nothing wrong with that but I can tell you that I put down over 500rwhp on my 03 SO truck way back when and it still had the stock exhaust manifold on it. That thing ran nice and cool too.......

Have fun, but not too much fun, when you get it all on there. I don't see any trans upgrades in your sig.....

Has anyone used the HE351 with a 2nd gen exhaust manifold?

What downpipe do you use?

Or modify the 3rd gen one?

I am picking up a HE351, but I'm thinkin I would like to swap a 2nd gen manifold at the same time.

Thanks
