Do the 285s look good on our trucks? I was thinking 315s, I think they will fit stock. I want to put the 285s on my first gen.

I've owned 3 sets of mtrs, they are excellent tires all around. I don't think they have 35's for the 17" wheels on my new rig or I'd have some. I'll have to settle for BFGs.

Thanks I'll check it out. Nobody seems to advertise them.

How long would MTRs last on a CTD? How do they handle wet roads compared to a BFG AT. I have been running BFG ATs on the beach for 8 years but it would be nice to have a more aggressive tire that was livable for a daily driver.

I am struggling with this decision now. I want 285 MTR's. Scared of the tire life though. I was hoping someone with deeper pockets would trythem before I do so I would have an idea

I checked, just as I thought they don't show a 35" tire for 17" wheels.

I really like mine, summer or winter, mind you I have the 285/75/16's but size shoudn't change things too much. I find they're wearing amazing for how aggressive they are, I can't really remember how many kms the truck had on it when I put them on but I think it was somewhere around 30,000kms, it's got 78,000 now and they look less than 1/4 worn, I don't think I'll have a problem getting 100,000kms out of them, maybe more.

They're a good wet road tire, they're awesome in wet snow, or snow period, they clean themselves really well, even gravel which is the biggest reason why i went with them, I hate stone pickers. My truck has climbed out of some spots with these tires it shouldn't have been able to with open diffs (not Limited Slip).

I'm impressed with these tires, just the look of them is worth it. IMO

don't do any offroading, but for towing and interstate miles i get 100,000 miles off michleon 285/75/16's , then i put them on trailers when i build/sell them and have had people comment they look like new tires on the trailers!!

BFG allterrain KO's 315x70R17 are what I have on mine.
315 millimeter = 12.4015748 inch
12.4015748" x .70 = 8.6811"
(8.6811" x 2) + 17" = 34.3622"

So the 315's are pretty close to a 35" tire on the factory 17" wheels. They are quiet and seem to be wearing well. The traction in the snow has been great.

I ran MTRs-285's on my 2 gen dually, only got around 25K on them. Two others friend have tried them because of the "Look" and after wearing them out in a year, swore to never go back. I am currently running 285's BFG muds on my dually. I've put roughly 19K on them w/ my black 03, and currently just turned 21K on this one. These tire still have around 1/4 tread left, granted they are starting to get loud though. The 19K was heavy towing, at least 10K, 70% of the time. I also had the MTR's on my Wrangler....loved em, but the jeep is also about 4K lighter than my beast now.... My preference is BFGs....just my .02
