Hey dudes I was checking this kit out and it looks it it will only fit the stock intake horn? My question is w/ this work with a CFM+? It looks like I might have enough room.....also it is pretty easy to install?

 

If you are going to buy this kit I would buy the matching intake from GDP, its really nice and works with the filter and factory dipstick and gives impressive gains. not to mention its also the least expensive. On your question, its not the space needed to mount the filter on the cfm, its the mounting ability. Most manufacturers do not build provisions into there intake for stock mounting options.

 

Yes the install is very easy. I have the stock intake horn but have plenty of room. Takes about half hour to install, if that!

 

I'm pretty sure the GDP kit will work with the AFE horn also. Or at least the AFE horn has mounting tabs on the back like the factory horn, so I'm sure something could be rigged to make it work.

I'd be very leary adding a 2 micron filter if you've only got the factory in tank lift pump. It's only putting out 8 PSI at an idle with very little volume you'll probably end up with less adding the 2 micron filter so if you ever do a chip or programmer you'll need more pressure.
Why not just get an Air Dog filter which you can get a 3 micron filter for then you'll be covered both ways.

 

No problem with my 2-micron kit and factory pump after 30,000 miles, 29,000 with a power adder of some sort.

 

Yes, absolutely no problem with the Stock pump and GDP 2 micron. I have both and my Idle PSI changed very little before and after. I made sure with GDP that it would work OK!

Yep, the MK-2 kit is a great kit, fit and quality of components is excellent. I purchased the GDP Fuel Boss fuel system at the same time, makes for a great combo...no more lack of fuel or pressure!
I too think it is a good idea to go ahead and upgrade your fuel system at the same time, but just my two cents worth!

 

I'm running the 2 micron filter with the F/W separator mounted on the driver's side frame rail just downstream from the the GFS 392 lift pump in place of the factory mounted fuel filter lift pump. Easy access but some people may consider my choice of filter mounting position a little vulnerable to road debris. A 1/4 inch steel plate in front of the filter pack mounted to the frame solves that problem.

All I know is I could draw my FP down to zero PSI running Crazy Larry with just the stock pump, I'd think it would only be worse with the 2 micron kit (but what do I know?)

 

Read my earlier post. GDP recommends the GFS. If you call them, they will tell you that you NEED to run it if you are running a box on high settings.

Yeah, go figure, Glacier recommends a Glacier pump!

Like I said though, you should look into another pump if running a 2 micron filter, that much we agree on.
