Fuel Pump/ Will This One Work ????? ANYBODY ELSE???

Got this fuel pump from the local diesel shop, that they put this kit together for the 9-02 dodges. They said it would work with my 03 with the filter mounted pump. What do you guy's think??? It was a good price kit, my cost was $156, just don't want to screw something up. Thanks

That pump can be retrofitted to work...but I would not waste my time. There are hundreds of threads discussing this.

You will need a adapter plate to remove the OEM lift pump from the filter housing...and a relay. Fire it with the 12v from the facotry lift pump harness.

Cool

Hey ddog87, I think that, that looks exactly like the pusher pump that I first put on my own truck. I believe that it is a carter 15 psi pump and no. I would not waste my time or money in putting that in. The reasons are simple. That or the simmilar holley pump that a lot of people put on thier trucks are just quite simply not designed for :a; deisel fuel= low life span, and: b; not nearly enough pressure as well as gph by those pumps. I went through 3 of them before I decided to go with the fass 200 pump and that was in a short(less than 1 year) period of time. I have had my fass one for well over a year with NO problems at all. Some would also probably chime in with similar pump designs but that particular pump is just not big enough or designed for our applications simply put.

I hope you mean size as in capability...cause the Walbro is the smallest (by size) pump out there and it GETS IT DONE!

It will work for "some" amount of time...and you will still see 5psi or more of drop off if your truck is heavily fueled.

cquestad, absolutely buddy! It is not the size it is the capability! Those pumps just are not capable of producing the fuel that our trucks need in order to be at the maximum ( in terms) productivity. They do not have a good life span nor do they pump the fuel volumes that the cp3 desires. But, YES you are absollutly correct.!

I know three guys running one of these pumps with no problems.

The local BD dealer cannot keep them in stock because they are VERY popular especially with the Dodge crowd.

Do what you want.

I have heard of any and all pumps having bad ones. Even the FASS has it's issues.

Install that pump along with the factory in line and dont worry about it.
If it does fail then send it in on warrenty.

Yes the FASS is one of the best systems out there. But it is not the only system.

I agree with 03 if your gonna run that pump, use it as a pusher for the stock pump, if you wanna eliminate the stocker go to a different system.

I know Glacier and FASS make good systems, but you can also fab up your own fuel system if you're a little creative. Before there was a Glacier there were alot of us who did R&D on specific designs using the Walbro. Heck of a pump.
