Fluid Dampener

Well what due you guys think about fluid dampeners? Since my motor is at the machine shop being balanced would this benefit me or is it a waste of money with a balanced motor?

Oh, I agree with you all just didn't know how much difference it would make with a balanced motor though. Were balancing everything from crank to piston rings.

In a few weeks I will install the DD sprung clutch I bought. If it is really noisy/rattly, I might buy one. I have read a few threads where guys say a Fluidamper really quiets a DD clutch.

I have been told now that if you have a fluid dampener you almost have to take it off to change the belt. Is this true?

On a 3rd gen you will have to remove the fluid Damper to change the belt. It is a real tight fit. Tim

Yeah but belts dont break on a regular basis (knock on wood!).

For any built motor Fluidampr is a must. Not only does it reduce vibration but it wont seperate into 2 pieces like a stock unit can.
The stock dampers dont like 4k rpm's and become dangerous up there.

Even with a balanced motor your still going to have torsional vibrations from the combustion events (basically when the engine is running).
