Firefly

Got my superchips Firefly the other day and love it. Just small hp gains but for what I wanted it is just perfect. Only wanted better milage and just a little more HP for towing camper and boat. Give me alittle over a month and I will give some milage quotes. It will take that long to get a couple of tanks run through, so I can hopefully give you some real data. That is unless the wife makes me take her camping. We were cleaning the camper today and she really got the bug. The standard milage that I have been getting is 16.5 to and from work, 20 mile run. Out on the highway I was getting 18.5. Please give me a month or 2 so that I can post true data. I know everyone wants data soon, but until I can get consistant numbers I will not feel that I am getting the true data to give. So please do not get upset when the numbers are not posted real soon.

That is up to 18 mpg, not up 18 mpg. I wish it was that much. I have noticed that most of my normal driving there is not much improvement. But when I am lugging it pulling some hils and what not that is where I can tell a difference. I went up to Black Hawk, CO and my milage went up 19.5 mpg. It was pulling great. Just walking up the hills. By the way I came home up $20.

Update. I am not happey with the unit anymore. Just under a year after purchase had to send back because the gauge was not working correctly. Then 2 months after the new gauge it started acting up again. Now a call to Superchips and they will let me ship it back for an upgrade to something else. They say that they discontinued it now.

If Superchips won't let you send it back(which they are not known for excellent cust serv), you may be able to get a new lazer guage on ebay. I picked up a spare for mine for about $20.

I am on my second guage now. Not sure but they just start wigging out. Thought about the guage but why buy another when it looks like they just go south anyway.
