Fass, Vent Kit and the return line

I am about to order my FASS and I have been reading some more trying to convince myself to pull the trigger. I came across an interesting thread that stated due to the FASS using the vent line to return fuel to the tank it is not advised to fuel the truck while the engine is running due to back splash.

Question, if I install the vent kit on the truck to fuel quicker can I use the stock vent line for the fuel return. Will there be any adverse effects that can be thought of? This would give the FASS it's own return seperate from the vent.

Any comments?

If you get the pump only kit you don't have to worry about the return line.

Does the pump only kit pump bypass the OEM lift pump?

Yes, you pull the stock one out and toss it..... or better yet sell it on e-Bay.

I can fill my tank at the big rig pumps with the engine running no problem, just install the spacer as far down as you can and make sure it is pointed toward the tank!

But I wonder if it will cause problems to route back to the "old" vent location?

What you are describing is exactly how I'm planning to hook up my secondarly bypass line when I install my Walbro. I haven't dropped the tank yet so I'm not positive it will work, but it sure seems logical to me.

It works just fine. I've had my RASP hooked up this way since day one. No problems at all.

That is GREAT to know Richard, Thanks. I will be installing my FASS this weekeng along with the vent kit. It only made sense to use the vent, glad to know it can be done.
