FASS is Quiet with video
FASS is Quiet with video
Okay some of you may remember a tread I started a couple weeks back about how loud my FASS HP 150 pump was. Well Dan (Diesel Dan) contacted me and said he'd work with me to quiet my pump down. I've got everything back together and I've got new video. I tried to do a side by side comparison with the two videos. Both were done in my garage on a concrete floor. The Loud video had the garage door open and the quiet video has the door closed. I will say the video doesn't do the quiet pump justice. You really can't hear it running when the truck is running. Of coarse you get the pre-start sound from both but focus on the running sound and you'll see there is a HUGE difference. Thanks again to Dan and DPP for helping me out. They have great customer support.

Have you heard any other brands on video? I haven't and that's why I'm asking. It would be great if someone posted some video of their aftermarket lift pump running like I did with the FASS. That way you could get an honest comparison. I'll say this....The performance, a 6 year warranty and their customer service is enough for me to buy another one.

I'm looking at the carter pumps. Just like was factory on the 2nd gens, mounted on the rear of the block. A little different version with higher pressure, but none the less identical looking. They were quiet as a churchmouse on those trucks - even when turned on to prime. I'm thinking with the pump I'm looking at P4601HP runs 18psi @ 100 GPH internally regulated - should be just as quiet. Put it back on the frame a little ways like I'm thinking and probably won't even hear it. That's what I'm hoping at least!

those 2nd gen carter pumps are a joke IMHO.....

IMHO....dont waste your time.....the carter P4601hp's are still a joke, that is the exact pump they replaced my first liftpump with on my 2nd gen...it lasted all of about 6months....original lasted a whopping 3.5 months.
Has any one tried Facet by puolator fuel Pumps http://facet-purolator.com/mcl/pages...ch_frmsrc.html

That's a nice video. But. You took the muffler off your truck. I believe you when you say people can't hear the pump, while the engine is running. I would like a pump that I can't hear with a muffler.

I got some very weird looks from people when I pulled into parking lots with the loud pump. Now all you hear is the exhaust and engine running
.
