Question EZ or AFE?

Hello again,

I just got my 51" Donaldson muffler put on by the local shop. They only charged my 50 bucks for installation. My next thing was gonna be the AFE w/filter. I am debating weather or not I should get the EZ first though. Eventially, I will have both but I just have to decide wich one first. (one mod per month) That is where you guys come in. What are your opinions? Does it matter if I have the AFE before the EZ? I already have gauges and yet to get over 900 degrees.
I have already decided when the time comes, to get the EZ due to easy installation and uninstallation as well as moderate power. I dont want to blow my auto tranny.
Thanks in advance for the responses. You guys have never let me down. Later.
------Chris

thanks for the quick response. I already know exactly what type of box I am gonna get and what type of intake I am gonna get. I have done alot of research and found many opinions on many different things. I am just asking if getting a box before the intake is an ok thing to do. I will just get the intake in a couple months or so if I get the box first. I have 1500 miles. Should I wait for the box?

Well, the EZ will still be fun even without the air box upgrade.
The air box upgrade won't be any more fun than stock.
Sounds to me like the EZ should come first...
I've run my truck for long periods of time with the EZ and the stock air filter. I had no problems with this combo. You already have a 4" exhaust so your EGTs should still be OK.

The guy that done the test on modules is Doug. If you want to read it go to the topic Predator Stage 2, go to the third page and read his third entry on that page and click on the underlined words that says verbage. This will take you to it. Good luck

I just added an EZ with stock muffler and airbox and filter and on level 4 EGT shoots up to 1300+ right now,I took it off am afraid I will screw up the engine,I will do the exhaust and air box before I add it back on..

AFE first. I know it will be terribly hard, but with only 1500 miles on her, you would probably like to give her a reasonable time to "break in" a little bit before you put the EZ on. Just my opinion.

Of course, I followed my own advice on my 2001, but the 2004, nah, the EZ, AFE, exhaust, etc was on by 400 miles! Oh well.
