Question Exhaust Advice Needed

I am looking to improve my exhaust on my 2005 CTD. My goal is to improve the flow but not increase noise or drone. What options are available?

Thanks. Mike

replace muffler with high flo muffler and install a resonator like a aeroturbine to keep noise down and eliminate Drone good luck

mjpalmer,

We have a couple of options for you to consider.

First get one of our cat back systems, if you leave the cat in place the sound levels are pretty close to stock unless you have your foot in it.

Second we also have a bolt in performance muffler that directly replaces the stock muffler. It has the welded hangers and all so it just slips into place of the original, again if you want quiet keep the cat in place.

Call us if you have any questions etc and we will be glad to help you.

mjpalmer remember one thing catalytic convertors on diesels get plugged up with soot causing alot of restriction and potentionally damaging EGT's. With that said I also must say it is against federal emission laws to remove a cat from a vehicle

Banks offers a cat back system that is quiet with a straight through muffler to help performance. These are a 48700 for the CCSB and 48701 for a CCLB. Another option that is very popular is to come off the cat with an Aeroturbine 4040L with resoantor and install an off-set pipe to match up to the existing tail pipe. The Aeroturbine helps to lower EGTs and gives the truck a nice deep tone without being loud in the cab.
