Anyone know of a box or download that will eliminate the 3rd injection event?

Why would you want to eliminate it?

 

3rd injection event is for catalytic converter efficiency.

 

I have this friend who has an off-road only CTD and has eliminated the CAT. He hopes that eliminating the 3rd injection he can get mileage comparabe to the pre 600/610 CTDs.

 

If its off road only, why is he worried about fuel economy.

The injection timing is retarded in addition to the 3 injection event. But the 3rd injection event doesn't happen all the time either.

 

I would like to kill the 3'rd injection also. It is nothing more than a waste of fuel for those of us without our cats.

 

I think past 2k rpm it shuts off.

 

Is this the reason the 600 engines are not getting the gas mileage the 2003 and earlier motors got ??? I have never heard of this 3rd injection event. I had just heard of the 1st pre-injection event that quiets the motor down.

 

I was under the impression that the SO/HO engines had a third injection event as well? I remember reading somewhere, TDR I think, that they could have up to 5 injection events based on engine variables. I'd have to do some digging to find it again, though.
