is there a program out there that similar to efi live for cummins 6.7 or 5.9

 

There was some talk over at HPTuners about possibly including the Cummins but I doubt it will ever happen. That was over 2 years ago and nothing has even been whispered about it since. EFI Live is GM and they said they have no interest in anything else.

 

Not really,Smarty is about the closest thing with adjustable rail,timing,TM,etc..

Van Aken was going to have something close but problems came up.

The smarty Revo is very close and with the soon to be released pod a change on the fly will be availible.

It sounds like the smarty is really awesome but its nowhere near the custom tuning level of EFI live or SCT.

 

Dodge programming is probably one of the hardest to figure out. If you look at the programming of a GM vehicle, everything is tagged (duration, pressure, timing, and so on). On the Dodges, if you alter one line of code, it doesn't tell you what is going to happen 25 lines later.... GM does. This is why EFI Live is available. It reads the code and then puts it into tables for you to adjust and then reflashes the new code in.

 

Lol, Give it time, haven't you noticed that Marco just can't cease to amaze us, the POD is gonna get closer to EFI live in time. It won't be EFI live, but its gonna be the best thing thats happened to the Cummins. Already is to some ppl.

 

You are exactly right. I have HPT that I use on gassers and you almost need a college degree to figure out some of the stuff. When you can go in and change parameters to turn on DTC's, manipulate VE tables and pretty much change the way the ECM interprets all data every little thing has a cause/effect result. It can take hours upon hours of reading scans and making minute changes just to figure out you forgot to turn off the TQ management in 2nd gear and need to start all over (All last weekend)

EFI Live, HPT, SCT etc. are great but are not for everyone. You dont just click up SW9 like on the Smarty and have the benefit of a great tuner writing a perfect tune for you. I spend a lot of time staring at the Gtech to see if the hours of work made a difference.

 

ive heard some talk of something like EFI live from banks and no I dont run banks stuff either but it would be interesting to see something like EFI live for the dodges
