Edge Juice w/attiude, Manual Pyro gauge, speedo correction and fuel pressure gauge

Hey guys,

I have a set of Autometer gauges and I do not want to get rid of them. But I want to buy a box that will let me correct my speedo for the tire size (or will I need to get dealer to reflash it), and allow some on-the-fly power settings.

If I got the Edge Juice w/attitude, could I keep my pyro gauge, or, would I have to drill another hole in the manifold for the edge? I really don't want to drill another hole. I supposed I "could" drill a hole post turbo and have the manual gauge plugged in there.. Would give me two readings, but, its not the same thing. I was told that splitting the signla off the same probe will cause reading issues. True?

I also plan to use the ROKK 2 deg. advance sensor (have it), and would like to use a tuner that works with it, if possible. I know the Edge EZ will work with it, but, am trying to avoid it if possible.

Other mods for now are AFE Stage II, no more silancer ring, and Dynomax Bullit Muffler.

I think after the tuner my next mod will be torque converter.

If I wanted to get a fuel pressure gauge, what style do I need? Upto 100psi? And where do I plug it in? I want an electric gauge.

Thanks.

You can certainly keep your current guages, I recommend that highly. You would need to drill and tap for another pyro if you wanted to have the Attitude monitor EGTs. I did eventually drill and tap for the Edge pyro. I ran for months without the Attitude pyro hooked up. You just don't get EGT readings on the Attitude. The Juice/Attitude boost readings are not accurate, seems they are displaying the fooled ECM values.

I don't know if the Juice/Attitude will work properly with the ROKK 2 deg. advance sensor. I would guess that it would confuse the Juice timing some.

If you want accurate OD/MPH readings the best thing is to have the dealer reprogram for the corrected "Pinion Factor". Once you do this, the Juice/Attitude will not monitor the transmission correctly. I have verified this with Edge.

I have Autometer Ultra-Lite fuel pressure gauge to match other Autometer guages. It is new electric, not fuel lines etc. in cab. Great guage, but expensive.

Here is my current console.

Cool, thanks man. Truck "cockpit" looks good.

So what you are saying is if I get the correct mph/odometer readings, edge won't work well with the tranny?

What if I leave it as is and get the edge to correct it (isn't that possible)?

And last, what is your gauge sweep reading? 0-100psi I assume? What is "normal" operating psi?

Thanks.

I would keep your current guages and just drill and tap another hole for the juice probe. The juice numbers are not that correct esp. the boost guage. So i would keep your current setup . Its my understanding that the tire recalibration is only for performance tests on the attitude. It does not adjust the factory speedo. I would strongly recommend that you change out the convertor. Its probably one of the best mods i have made. Good luck.

Bigman,

What tranny mods did you do, and, how much was it (if you dont' mind sharing)?

I HATE the way the stock tranny works, its horrible, very dissapointing. Going from a stock allison and dmax to a stock cumminz and 48re, is like day and NIGHT.

Thanks.

Igor, couldnt agree more. Stock the 48re is not very good. I had 2 durmax/ allison trucks and the 48re pales compared to the allison. The mods i did were an ats convertor, valve body and 22 quart pan. Believe me when i say this made a huge improvement on how the tranny reacts to power. Plus i picked up a solid 1mpg in town. I would bet if dodge made a tranny that was closer to this from the factory , they would sell more trucks. I know plenty of folks that love the cummins but think the tranny is a joke, so they look to the other brands. The mods installed set me back 2200$. Worth every freakin penny.

Igor,

My Autometer boost is 0-60psi, the SPS66 is wastegated at 50psi, so that will do until I have twins. Bigman is right about the Attitude tire size setting, it only works with the display and does not change anything in the ECM.

If you change the stock ECM "Pinion Factor" the Transmission monitoring(slip, lockup) will not work. Therefore the tranmission backoff if slip detected in lockup does not work. It took about a two months for Edge to finally agree that they had a problem.

Just be aware of this, I don't think Edge has changed anything and I don't really think they will solve this anytime soon. But you can give them a call and ask just to verify.

Ya, well, I drove the dmax before and I had lots of truck problems, but no powertrain problems or complaints. The 4 speed in the dodge took 1000miles to **** me off.

That sucks about the edge and "pinion" factor.

What about the BD Ram X adj. module with a ****. I already have the gauges, so... Its hard to search for BD stuff as the search option ommits it...says its too "short" (BD).

I think once I get all my current mods on and all the bugs with the lift worked out, its gonna be time for a "box" and some tranny mods. The only thing is, I really would like to have a correct speedo. Oh well...keep on searching.

Thanks guys.
