Edge Insight CTS questions
I have one and like it. Yes if you run a programmer/ dl that boost fools you are not going to get real boost numbers. Mine has been flawless, and it has a lot of features. I would buy it again. Oh and when I get a turbo I will run one of the gauge pods on top of the steering wheel with an analog boost gauge. Much cleaner than the ricer look with 15 gauges around the cab and on the a pillar. I hate that look, jmo.
Okay, with some more info from Edge and the guys at Geno's i ordered up an Insight CTS. Will have it on the 7th, so will let you all know how it does after that.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
UPDATE: Received my Insight CTS yesterday, put the latest update on it, and had it installed in about 1 hour. This included the pyro. I installed the EGT sensor right about the #5 cylinder trying to get it as far back on the engine as possible where the engine typically runs the hottest.
I'm very impressed with the quality of the unit, the display, layout, and graphics. Very easy to operate, and read. You really don't even need to read the owners manual to figure out how to use it. Common sense was used when designing the layout and displays.
It does display my trans temp which was a concern. Seems to run hotter than i expect, and hotter than what i see on my gas truck. Last nites test run up the hwy (60* air timp) running empty showed a trans temp of 172* My gas truck won't leave the 140 mark until it gets to be a pretty warm day out or a trailer is involved.
Also, boost pressure is a question mark for me. I've never owned a turbo diesel before, so don't know what im supposed to see. There was some concern weather this unit would display my correct boost or not. I really only see boost when the truck is under load. Light foot driving around town and its nearly zero, and might get to 3#. Getting on the freeway it will come up, and sticking your foot in it, it will read up to 25+ I think it recorded a high of 27.7#
Is this typical ?
