dynoed today

i dynoed my truck today and had mixed results. it was on a mustang dyno. on the stock setting my truck made 301/544. not bad for stock fueling i thought. next i went to level 3 where i normally drive. edge rates this as a 60/160 increase. the truck made 366/743. i was pumped. then i go to level 6 or hot. this is rated for 160/350 increase. the truck made 433/856. well below what was advertised. especally with my supporting mods. the only thing i could see was peaks and valleys on the dyno chart on the upper end of that pull. am i running out of fuel? the truck smoked good the whole pull but i dont have a fuel psi guage so who knows? any thoughts?

You can tell when your fuel pressure drops. It'll starve the CP3, which will starve the injectors and it will start to buck. Might of had a little tranny slip. Look at the values afterward?

nothing over 1250 until i did the hot setting and i saw 1550. only for a second or two and it was leveling out. the mustang loaded the truck up good so each pull was 8-10 seconds long.

Did you hit the menu button twice to disable the backdown safety features? If not, that is where you went wrong.

If you didnt shut off the safteys that would do it. "..and it was leveling out" quote seems like just that. The egde shouldve flashed your warning though or made it real big on screen by itself while it backs out fuel.

With the Southbend DD I doubt you had any trans slipping issues. I agree with your mods I would expect to see more, i think some guys running just a stock truck with Smarty in a beta program are running in the 450HP area with the 2006s.

What kind of tires do you have?? I know with my 35" mud tires I can't keep traction on a mustang dyno above 420hp....that might be part of the peaks and valleys....

also would i see bigger numbers with a smarty and cooler egts? i really like the adjustability of the edge but i think there should be more in it also tends to run hot even with my 62/12.

A Smarty will no doubt make it run cooler. Just put mine on and can only get 1200 degrees.
