Since you have a 5" exhaust your limited on tips so you will have to cut the tip at the base and weld on. All the tips I have done even if they are bolt ons I just weld them on.

Yep. If you want a big difference in exhaust note, install a 12v motor!

tips will change the sound, usually when you get a 6 inch or bigger. Just make sure you get a rolled tip. It projects the sound better than a straight edge tip

I just recently went from a 5" rolled tip to a 8" rolled tip and I got a much higher pitch in sound while driving through town. On the highway its really not all that loud. I like the way that it sounds personally. Looks tough as hell to if you ask me.

Thats a reversed comment. 5" high pitch. 8" deeper tone. I hate seeing trucks with 6"- 8" tips that are only like 10" long.

I will 2nd that.. I think length plays a very big role in tip tone.

a class mate has an Eight inch on his 2wd 12V and when he is loaded heavy I think it drags the ground on bumps.

I have a 5 inch MBRP into a 18" long 6" tip, sounds sweet, but my turbo has 99% to do with that...

Why don't you just put a 6" TAILPIPE on and then it looks like you have a larger exhaust system and it might change the tone also.
