Do I have a plastic intercooler on my 05? (pics)

Im NOT sure what to look for, but I think the whole things plastic. What does that mean exactly, how much power can it handle before it goes KABOOM!!

Most definitely.. Plastic end-tanks.
I still have mine (hasn't blown yet) but I always get a little leary when pulling Snoqualimie Pass out here in Washington state and I've got 8-10k behind me.. Boost is usually around 40.

Only the end caps are plastic.
Some seem to last forever, but 40+psi will kill them if you are not careful. It seems that most of them go when you are towing something heavy. I am not sure if it is sustained boost that does it or boost spikes that might occur when towing something heavy?
It is not really a matter of how much power, but how much boost and how long. I think if you are easy in the go pedal and easy out of it then you could be ok.

I would start looking for someone's take off if I were you. Stock they don't even seem to hold up that great. They only tried it for a half of a year before they found out what they had done. Start watching the classifieds here and over on the TDR. You don't have to be a member to look at the classifieds on TDR. Some guys have sold their's pretty cheap because they went to an aftermarket for reasons that escape me.
If you are running the TST with the wastegate modification for the 05, they will last. Only the edge guys are blowing them because of the high boost spikes. Stock turbo and wastegate mod done on mine it will hit 34 psi on a spike but then drop to 28-29. I only replaced my intercooler because of a good deal on the banks unit. Remember you are fooling the ecu to add more fuel and hence the computer is thinking it has a lower boost pressure. The TST has a nylon line that connects to the wastegate and using pressure just a like a boost gauge. The 05-06 trucks have an electronically controlled wastegate.
