Dipricol Pyro Problem!!!

O.k. Put A Set Of The New Dipricol Optix Gauges In ( Look Soooo Cooool), But When I First Started The Truck The Pyro Gauge Worked Fine Went To Like 450 Then I Shut It Down. Went Back Out To Run To Town And I Look Down And The Gauge Reads 1200 But I Was Only 1/2 Mile From Home Going 20mph. Went Into The Store Came Out Started The Truck And Gauge Read 1200 Started Driving Goes To 1500, Stop And Let The Truck Cool Off And It Will Only Go To 1200 No Lower. What Gives I Checked All The Connections And They All Look Good, Is It The Probe? Any Help Would Be Great Folks. Thanks

Probe or bad ground...check all connections again and then call your supplier and trade it out.

pyro

I have the dipricol guages in mine. They work great and look great in the daytime. The pyro at night is very hard to see. The back light does not work great on it, but the boost guage looks good at night.

jb903,

Most likely your losing connection thru the connection at the back of the gauge, the probe is ok. Take it off and check each individual connection on both the gauge and the wiring harness. Take soemthing like an ice pick and make sure the connector isn't slipping back as it's plugged in etc.

Letting it sit and only 200 does sound normal. Dont' forget, that is iron and it takes awhile to really cool off back to normal temps.

600* around town doesn't sound too bad also. It depends how you are pushing your motor or not.

mine went bad after about 6 months, wouldnt go below 500* unless tapped on, just got worse, the guy I bought them from went out of business, so I emailed di pricol, they sent me a new one, no charge, and just asked for the broken on back, drop them a line, maybe they can help.

I have the di procol gauges, and they compliment the factory white face nicely. 200 deg. at idle is normal and so is the 600 around town. I have a 2004.5 and am getting the same results.
