Diablosport Predator
So I bought a Predator. I went straight for the Extreme tune, I immediately noticed a crappy idle and it seemed elevated as well (850rpm idle). The truck seemed to want to run hard right up until the wastegate dumps boost at about 30psi, followed by some HOT egt's. Half way through 4th she is over 1500 degrees and climbing. I installed the Performance tune and its pretty much the same. My butt-O-meter says the extreme tune is no faster then the performance tune. Has anyone dynoed the 2 back to back? My truck is an 05, 4x4, G56. It has a Volant intake and 4" straight pipe, no cat no muffler. I need to check what version Predator I have, and look into a boost fooler I guess. I had the Dr performance predator before this one, it must have had the boost fooler built in because it would hit around 43 psi. It was a pretty hot tune as well but the extra boost kept it from getting as hot as this one. On a side note werent these Predators supposed to adjust for tire height? Thanks for the help.

Not too late, I just got this thing, Im sure I could send it back. I went with the Diablosport because I used them on my last 2 Duramax trucks with great success. I got a smokin deal on it. I would love a smarty, but at a third of the price the Predator was hard to pass up.

There is an update available, R28, but it should not make a difference with the issues you are seeing. I have read that people are see high EGT's with the Predator, but thought that it was mostly when stacking. Contact Diablosport, or ask around their forums on their site. I don't recall seeing anyone have such problems with a "factory" tune, only custom extreme ones.

I have read that people are see high EGT's with the Predator, but thought that it was mostly when stacking. Contact Diablosport, or ask around their forums on their site. I don't recall seeing anyone have such problems with a "factory" tune, only custom extreme ones.

Please keep us informed. When I get back from my camping trip, I have been planning on getting a Diablo and selling the Superchips. Good luck, I hope it turns out good 4 you.

I run the Extreme everyday, when I nail it I can get up to 1600*@34psi (dynojet430hp/862Trq).,(The Extreme stack produced less hp at 422hp/837torq) the truck idles and runs just fine. When I back out of it the EGT's drop rapidly to 500-700 normal driving. The performance mode gets me to no more then 1400* and no more then 28psi and takes a little longer to achieve full speed. I tried the rkl tunes but they can have issues, so I stick to the safe tunes for now. I used to run the Triple Dog/Edge1000C, but I think the stack I run now is smoother.

Get the predator...
I just got mine on my front porch today while I was at the Comedy Club. So I was out at 1:00am playing with it, and then had to go for a test drive. WOW Crazy, I love it, My wife even likes the smoke...
All this and I am only on the middle tune.
