Diablosport Predator installed

Well just installed the performance tune to my truck. I disconnected the XZT box also because I don't know if the timing will be too far advanced with both. Anyhow, it's smooth power. And alot of smoke which I'm not used to. Don't know if I like that much smoke either. And this isn't even the extreme tune...
EGT's are much higher than Quads box at all times while driving.
Hit 1500 degrees quickly.... and only saw 30 maybe 31lbs of boost and I had to get outta it due to traffic. I'm gonna have to keep playing with it to see how much I like it. It's not bad, don't get me wrong... I think I might like it better WITH the XZT also. Between the two, the XZT pulls harder but seems more "touchy". Predator seems smoother but holy crap it gets smokey. So maybe if I get the XZT reprogrammed to work in harmony, get my boost back to 40psi, maybe it'll clear up the smoke alittle and pin me to the seat alot...

I've been running 40psi with Quad's xzt box for alotta miles and no problems. The 05's can handle 40psi, I've been told, with no issues. Are you running the Predator?

I havent towed heavy yet but my egt's are close to what they were with the edge ez. I have had this programmer in 4 different trucks. Two 03's one 04.5 and one 05. The two newer ones were 6 speeds. If you lug the motor it looks like a tire fire. Both 03's were autos and didn't smoke near as bad. The power is nice and the autos shift much smoother.

Well, the trans shifts better with the Predator. And thats a good thing. The Cummins seems to run much smoother now...
But just cruising down the street at 35mph, before it goes into 4th gear, at 1500rpms, egts are at 900. I've never seen over 600 with the XZT in the same situation. This is supposed to be a "Performance/Economy" tune. Running that hot means I'm dumping that much more fuel. I've got to get my XZT reprogrammed to get my boost back up. That should help all around...

Predator and XZT

I received my Predator and Puck combo about 2 weeks ago, There is something wrong with my Puck, there is no difference in power switching between the 60-off-90 hp settings, sending it in soon. Meanwhile I have a XZT, I reinstalled it, very nice module, totally stock, Wanted to see what it's like with Predator in tow tune, my brake light and ABS light wouldn't go off. drove easy for about 1 mile , Put Predator back to stock, lights went out. can't say if it ran good, didn't get on it, Afraid it might not be a good combination.

Too much timing... You shouldn't run the xzt with the Predator in its stock form. You need to have the timing removed from the xzt or you can do some damage.

Talking

you can get custom tunes from diablo that have the timing removed, also johan says the extreme tunes on the 03 and 04s are the only tunes with timing, the tow and performance dont, but on the 04.5s and up all tunes have some kind of timing but like i said you can ask for one with no timing, they have some for download for the 7130,i tried it with no timing and the throttle response was not as good,if i get another box with timing in it ill try the no timing tune.

Try 8oz of Stanadyne Performance fuel additive with your next tank and see how much of that smoke goes away.
