CP3 Pump Upgrade

Is there any modification a person can make to the stock CP3 pump that will help the performance on a mildly tuned truck. I thought the Wicked FCA was the answer but after further reading I am thinking this may not help a stock truck.

What will the III kit do on a almost stock truck or do you have to have the heavily modified truck to gain from this?

the pump is not the issue, you can run dual pumps if you want its the injector size that can kill your truck and force you into buying a larger pump but there is no harm other then the cost of buying a stage 3 pump right off the bat.

I agree and Disagree....any upgrade will help even a stock truck. I am running stock injectors and CP3 with my smarty (Revo-TNT) and the TST set to 2/2 I was draining the rail horribly. So yes a CP3 upgrade will help, but Injectors will give you more BANG for the buck....

i agree but he is or i think he is asking if it will hurt or harm your truck in anyway to run a larger cp3. if he is asking that then no it wont hurt you can run a dual setup on stock sticks if you want it wont hurt your truck. and yea new sticks are a big bang for the buck but like i said if you go to big you well be forced into a pump upgrade and if your short on the cash do the fuel system first then do the sticks when you have the cash to do it. that way you can use the smarty as high as your tranny can take. doing things in order can save you alot of headache.

Sorry, what I meant to say was by doing any modification to the pump without doing anything else am I going to see any gains in regards to SOP performance.

SOP, probably. You will get a quicker ramp up of rail pressure which will broaden the power band slightly. Top end gains will most likely be minimal unless pressure is already low

I noticed a sotp diff with just the wicked "regulator" installed (it's a $50 piece of the arson 3 kit)....plus some of the items, like the regulator are quasi "wear" items...eg. if your's (spring) is old and weak, it'll give some pep back....

I dont think you can go wrong with faster ramp and more flow in, thru, out of the CP3....e.g. II bag of parts or Wicked arson 3....
