Modded cp3 or dual cp3's?

I know my rail pressure is low but I need some good info on using a modded cp3 versus the dual cp3 kits. I cannot seem to get any real numbers from anybody tht used a modded cp3 versus stock. I only want about 600 hp so is the dual kit really needed. TIA

a modded pump may work for your purposes but, a big reason to go with duals is to reduce the stress on the one pump.

Two pumps will run at 50% keeping the wear down on them and the pressure up but, a single modded would have to work likely closer to 80% or more to do the same thing.

Price is a big factor though too. Modding one is a lot cheaper.

You can make 700+ on a single pump. No need for dual pumps for your application.

700 on a dyno is alot different than 700hp to the ground for 20 or 25 seconds straight.
I went with duals to sustain power without any question...(and to grow of course).

A single modded pump like a stage 2 is good up into the 550 area for sustained power. If you just want to blink a dyno screen for a second then you should be able to touch 700hp.

Real world and dyno's numbers are totally different.

You make a very valid point. For the price though, I think most of us can live with just dyno numbers

I went with the stage 2 cp3 to keep costs down. plus pourindiesel made me a deal on it including installation and I couldnt pass it up. BUT if I had the funds I would have the dual pumps. I should dyno soon and hope to be in the 550-600 area. hope that is

Jesse are you going to Dyno at Scheid if you go? Danville is going to have another dyno day in the fall too, and I am sure TST will have one in October like they did last year. Is it me or do you change your signature every hour?

I like change. I dont think those dynos at scheid are very good. they seem old and worn out. I am scheduled at tst for the dyno day. I also talked to danville perf. yesterday actually I may just shoot in there and dyno one day. I want to see what its got now im very interested to know.
tst is only 50 but its a mustang dyno. they say only a couple guys have dynoed 500 there so I dont know if im gonna keep my spot. my buddy wants to dyno his 01 that he has put money into this year to see what its got

Ha! Change is good.
That's interesting to know about tst's rollers. I was thinking about scheduling to get on the tst dyno, but knowing that I may stay away. I like the setup at Danville. As for scheid's, isn't one of them dunbar's, or am I mistaken?

not sure on what they have at terre haute. could be. I plan to go back to danville my truck put down good numbers that I think are accurate. your truck put down good numbers also

I can't wait to see what yours does with your setup now. I want to put mine back on after the FASS, see what gives. Maybe I can turn the tst up a little bit and get 550 and over 1000.

Its funny how if a dyno puts out low numbers then its junk but if the dyno puts out big numbers its the greatest dyno since sliced bread (I'll go back to my corner now!) LOL

that one at tst is very nice you know that. how accurate is it justin?

Well that is true I guess. I personally would rather get on a dyno that is accurate. I have read about mustang dynos not being accurate and inconsistent. Of course a dyno number is just that, a number.
