clutch slave cylinder

Replacing the clutch and I am at the point to reinstall the slave cylinder. The problem is the rod on the clutch slave cylinder is all the way out. It will not push back in. Any tricks on getting the rod back to normal position?

That is what I thought. It should push back, however it is fully extended and will not move. Any ideas? the pedal seems okay.

How hard did you push on it?

The rod is fully extended and will not return by hand. I believe there is an issue with the master cylinder. It appears to not be releasing. Any Ideas?

Then disconnect the slave and try to retract it; if it does, look to the master.

I removed the master and slave as a unit. On the bench I still can not return the slave cylinder rod. It appears that the master cylinder is not releaving the pressure. Guess it is time for a SBC upgrade!
