Clutch is in!

Hey guys, just got back from test driving the truck with my new Soutbend Con OFE. Not trying to be too rough on it, but it handles very well, noticed the clutch is actually lighter and easier to transition between shifts. No extra rattling SO FAR, but it does stutter a little bit when taking off. I believe that its doing that because its new and will subside. With the short throw shifter it still feels normal, not extra notchy like I imagined. Overall, the truck does feel more responsive and I am very pleased with the results. One question, will I be okay to tow 10,000 lbs tomorrow about 20miles? If I'm easy on it?

I also had a bad pinion seal @ 83,000 miles Current, went ahead and did my differential and gear oil. I feel fortunate, nothing has gone wrong on my truck to frustrate me, the turbo, clutch, Airdog, and gauges, etc all installed very well and has not caused me a single issue. (knock knock)

I want to thank Chris at High Desert Ravelco and Lloyd Mills for getting me all the things I needed, and at an unbeatable price with unbelievable customer service. I couldn't of had it any better. Thank You!

Rick

Thank you Peter. Clutch is great!!! Got alot of compliments from the installer,he noticed the better quality pretty quickly. Is it normal for a little shudder at takeoff (2nd gear takeoff), and will it subside?

Most refer to the "Grabby" nature of the clutch. If that is what it feels like, most likely that will be normal.

LFD2037, contact LLoyd Mills (lmills) by PM. He will get you set up, and he's more than willing to talk. Just don't get on his nerves!

Yes it is grabby, just shudders leaving 2nd on more than one occaision. It doesn't do it every time. Maybe its just me... I think it is ok because everything else is acting so well.

Actually, just use a little more RPM in 2nd and be a little quicker on the clutch pedal and you should see a difference.

The shudder is normal but will become less noticable after a few hundred miles on it.Time to let it rip,Rip!
