Clutch

So i found a good deal on a clutch and was wondering what u guys think. Its a brand new SBC Con OFE for 350 bucks. Its cones with the standard stuff. Plate, tool, bearing. Now, my question is, do u think this clutch is enough for when i put on my injectors and turbo. Im thinkin im already near the 450 mark. Just want some opinions.

P.S. I dont race or run the track, i only us the power to Bomb around and when those dmax and strokers pull up next to me and they need a leson from a real truck. Thanks for the help

Ive read that the 450 hp that they are rated at is conservative. I cant remember who it was but he dyno on a load dyno at around 550. He did say it slipped a little, but he said that the dyno really put his truck to the test with the load they had it set on.

dodgezilla04 (aka #2) put down 505 and I think 1021 with an OFE and bigger tires. Cant remember what size tires though, somethin between 295s and 315s I think.

I might have to try it, worse comes to worse you wasted 350 bucks.

If it wont hold I would think it would be cause the tires as much as anything.

Gypsyman (or however you spell it) put down a little over 600 with ofe and lmills put down 7?? with an FE. So I would say they are conservative with the ratings.

Thats what i kinda figured. I dont know but so far it puts down good power and it has 112xxxkm on the stock clutch and it does not slip, i just want to do it before i get the turbo in april. I guess ill get it and if it dont work, o well, time for more mods and maybe a DD. Thanks for the info and sugestions.

P.S. I run 37" tires, the other truck u talk about was only running 33-35ish tires. just so u know.

Are you puttin the clutch in yourself?

If you do tow much I would go with the ofe or a DD anyway so really I dont think you can go wrong. I almost got an OFE myself but went ahead with the DD so I wouldnt have to spend the money twice but my price for an OFE and hydros was much higher than 350.

Very, very happy I went DD.
