Add my truck to the list of vehicles broken into through the door handle. The thieves got away with a bag of change and a maglight, but didn't take the two pair of sunglasses on top of the bag of change.

They've broken into all three of my roommates' cars too, sometimes twice.

I've broken into my truck 3 times .... and the alarm doesn't even go off if the keys are not in the ignition but within 2 feet of the skim reader. If someone steals my truck I hope they kill themselves and themselves only in a police chase or a gun battle.....cause I'd hunt them down till the end of the earth...KS

yikes! where in Tucson are you located? Sometimes, I can be found on the northwest side, in horse country. Thankfully, little to no crime there. House can even be left unlocked without worry. Having big nasty dogs helps I suppose.

Good comment on the premiums...

Ideas like the ralveco should be OEM.

Yeah, with qualifications...

the dealer that I bought my '05 from "forced" me to buy it with a Ravelco-like security device installed (they refused to remove it from the truck and that was the only one left in the region that fit my needs), but it was just an el cheapo security plug that spliced into the wiring harness.

I could have done it at Radio Shack with an Andy Jackson, and they charged me over 7 bills!

Small wonder that I've never returned to the dealer.

the dealer we bought my wife's Jeep from tried that too. said the price was factored into the payments of all vehicles sold off their lot, and their was no way around it. i said 'thank you for your time' and got up to leave, when PRESTO! they found a way to remove the charge. car dealers and oil guys- amazing they can find pants that fit, with kiwis that big.

the deal with those types of security systems is that it takes them about 15 minutes to install, they hard load the entire lot and charge OUTRAGEOUS amounts of money for them. I remove them on a constant basis but before I do, I show the customer how to bypass it with a paper clip. you should see the looks I get when that happens.

I consider a "13th" truck payment a year high...

I have thought it would be easy to wire a toogle to the lift pump power wire. No lift pump = no go, then hide the switch inside the cab where it would be easy to access but not easy to find.

these trucks will run without a lift pump believe it or not. the duramax does not have a lift pump. the cp3 pulls the fuel.
