oh, and not a single issue with the truck, gauges, sterio or any thing else...

its all about the install, its all about the details, its all about the 102"
and not all the problems associated with a mag mount...

What I thought was funny is the initial mention of the GL and technicqally needing a HAM lic. The GL is a modified CB. The radio in itself is illegal, whether or not you hold a lic. In fact, you would lose you lic. if you were caught with the GL in your mobile..

That being said, I am jonesing for a GL.............I hear nuttin but good things about it. By me, you need to be pushing some power to keep up with the truckers. I have a uniden pc76xl peaked/ tuned and doing okay. Can't figure out where to put it in the truck, so it's kinda butchered a lil but it doing okay. A good MIC is a bug thing also.

I think I may go with a amp on my 76 before going to the GL....

too add to the original post, do you have to have a weather channel antenna to pick up the WX band? or can you use any standard antenna? I want to pick up a radio, mostly for the WX channel, so I dont want to get a bad radio/antenna match.

No special antenna needed for the wx channel that I know of.

run the positive to the battery and ground the radio on the seat frame.

i run main pwr and ground direct to the batery, then a ground strap from the radio chasis to the seat frame. doing this has eliminated 75% of all of my rf issues
