Looking for something as stand alone box.

It's screws! Just keep an eye on the EGT's, the Crazy Larry is insane! The triple dog gives you on the fly adjustability and you don't need to mount switches! Plus it's upgradeable online for free, new truck in a few years.. no problem you just download the new software (did i mention you can upgrade for free). That's what turned me on to mine, works great huge increase in fuel economy and no problems at all with it. Now the down side, mine's in the classified section really cheap if you want it but only for one reason, to adjust on the fly you have to plug the programmer into the OBD II plug and change the program with the programmer, it's easy and only takes a few seconds. This is my only issue with the programmer because I find myself always changing the program to tow the trailer or push snow, then change back for normal driving. If you can deal with using one power level for everything or don't mind it taking a few seconds to switch programs then the Triple Dog is a great set up. Plus it will work in anything, Ford, Chevy , or Dodge! Good luck with the decision, the Triple Dog is a great programmer as far as I'm concerned, I picked up huge power, and an easy 3 or more MPG's (depending how I drive it!).

I have had mine for a little over a week now and I like it alot. The only reason I have it is because I got it for free but it works great. I haven't used the extreme yet since I have no gauges(there on the way) and a stock tranny, but the performance is nice. Not as fast as I thought it would be in performance but it made a very noticeable difference. I will time some runs tomorrow in stock and then performance and let you know how it goes because I want to know too. I would also recomend it for the free upgrades onlinle like mentioned in the post above. Oh yea if your looking for smoke, it puts out a decent amount in performance, none in tow that I have seen.

I use mine as a stand alone unit and have Westach guages. There are pro's and con's to this...

Pros...

Cleaner dash look with analog guages
Other drivers cannot mess with your settings

Cons...

Have to plug it in to adjust on the fly
Cannot change or set de-fueling points
Certain other features may not be available without the outlook

Overall, I'm happy using it in this fashion but I have a suspicion that my truck de-fuels at pre-set points that are likely way too conservative considering the airflow I'm getting. I might eventually get the outlook but am in no hurry to do so. The truck runs great and I haven't had a single code or issue.

I think it's pretty good, but I have a suspicion that the programming in the T-dogs is milder than the original downloaders. For the SO/HO trucks they're only advertising 113hp on extreme. According to AKRAM the original downloaders were making 160hp for the SO trucks.

My T-dog is pretty good, more power than stock, but not nearly as powerful in Extreme as the standard Quad Xzillaraider (rated at 100hp gain). I've run both the standard and race Quad boxes, and they both make more power.

Overall I like it. Smokes a bit down low, cleans up nicely, and it has better/smoother throttle response than the Quad modules. I just wish it made a little more power across the board.

I guess that's why I stacked it with the TST

Thanks people.

The torque numbers seem a little low though.

Cappa, I take back what I said about not being very fast. Tried the extreme today(it was oh so tempting ) and I could not get the grin off my face. Cannot wait to get a DTT in there.

Does anyone know the configuration of the test bed that the numbers were derived from? Meaning....an otherwise stock truck? Airflow mods?

Any ideas?
