bully dog issues?

Hey ...I'm new 2 the site and I have an 06 3500.....I bought an edge cs tuner that won't communicate with my truck ...I caked edge and they said it's cuz I tried my friends bullydog gt out b4 buying and they said when u reset your truck back 2 stock the bd leaves something behind ....so I either trade my edge in for a bd or get my truck flashed ....anyone else ever heard of or experienced this ....the bd says it resets to stock but I'm sure they wouldn't advertise that it leaves a code behind anyway

There's no other way around flashing the truck ...I just don't want 2 waste money on something I don't need 2 do is all ....just seems odd it doesn't totally remove itself but works on another vehicle

Did you change any other parameters or options like the tire size? If so I believe the parameters have to manually set back to stock with the Bullydog before proceeding.

Bullydog in the past has used non US spec firmware which after going back to stock other programmers will not recognize (I assume is what happened to your truck). So your options would be going to the dealer for a reflash and starting fresh, or buying a Smarty and having them install a special recovery file to blast your ECM with the correct US spec firmware.

It's not your grid heater. Not sure what it might be but the grid heater is not the issue.
