Boy, did I LUK out! Call me Smarty!

I bought a LUK cerametalic for $470. Ordered on Tues, arrived Thurs nite. FREE SHIPPING!

I called some shops in Phoenix to get it installed. I wanted to hang around and watch them do it. Most of the places wanted $400-$550. Most didn't have time to do it.

Then I saw this new place on the way to work. I took the number and called it. $250. Open Saturday! I go in to talk to him and I was cofortable. He really likes LUK. Installed in 6 1/2 hours! He knows autos too.

I just got out. Peddle pressure is down. He lubricated the shifter and I don't recognize it any more. I used to slip with Smarty on #3. I test drove it with Smarty on #7. It holds like a maniac! NO SLIP! Now I gotta try #9!

Let's see, $470 + $250 = $720. Not bad.

Bargin product, bargin install, Smooth clutch, smooth programmer, all I can say now is

What is it rated for as far as horsepower and torque? I've had a lot of people tell me that singles hold for a while, but can't stand up to the longevity of a DD at higher levels from things like smarty and TST

I really haven't found a rating for the LUK clutch. I would think it is comparable to other metallic clutches. If I have a problem with it, I will have to try something else. If you abuse anything long enough it will break. I am not going to do any pulling with it. I might take it to the drags once in a while.

The clutch that was taken out of my truck still looked good, but I knew it wouldn't last. I cringed every time the engine would rev knowing the engine was cooking the clutch. The stock clutch was a LUK also.

When I first tested droved the truck with the mechanic, I almost accused him of not hooking up the clutch. The peddle was so easy compared to stock. I still can’t believe that it holds so good. Like I said, my truck has a whole new personality.

well i got my new smarty on sat and took it out for a drive. because im me i instantly put it on sw 9 and went out. well before i got to a quarter throttle the clitch was slipping in third. well a buddy of mine wanted to see what the throttle response felt like with the smarty so i let him drive, well needless to say he drives an auto well when the clutch slips in my truck the clutch pedel turns into a rock well he just put it to the floor once and held it there and came to a stop like that then asked why it would not come out of gear. it was stuck in forth. and we were stopped at a light. the clutch slipped so bad we were stopped with it engauged and the truck never died. it was like having a auto. im glad my new clutch will be here tomorrow.
