Question boost gauge

i just started doing upgrades to my truck, noticed that boost gauge was installed post turbo, is that giving me a truer readout or should it be installed pre turbo?

Definitely needs to be on the "hot" side. Just like measuring voltage, you can't measure it on the "cold" side.

If your boost gauge was installed pre turbo you would never see any boost.

I am assuming you are refering to an EGT gauge, maybe??? If so, then pre turbo in the exahust manifold is where the exhaust probe needs to be for a truer reading. If post turbo, hard to tell how hot it is BEFORE the exhaust gets to the turbo, and maybe a little to late cathc a meltdown.

If you ARE talking about a boost gauge, it would HAVE to be post turbo to get a reading, as mounted PRE turbo would give a vacuum reading.

Maybe you are talking about post INTERCOOLER and pre INTERCOOLER? If so, you would need to be POST intercooler for a more true reading of what your motor is seeing boost wise, because if mounted PRE intercooler, you will get a higher boost reading before it goes through the intercooler and tehn into the engine, and give you a less accurate reading.

How's that?
