Boost fooler clarification needed please...
Is my understanding correct?
The fooler makes the ECM see less boost thus preventing the ECM from cutting the amount of fueling. This translates into more power because as my higher boost pressure is hitting the motor, the ECM is still applying more fuel.
Now my specific to my truck question.
I have an 03' SO that I have put a HE351 off of an 04.5+. I also have an adjustable elbow and I have it set to top out at 29psi. My truck falls on it's face pretty quick when it gets close to the 29psi but pulls like a BNSF locomotive up until that point.
Is this because the ECM is reading the high pressure thru the MAP sensor and defueling the motor?
I have code P0234 so obviously the ECM is seeing the higher boost.
Will a fooler enable me to see the full potential of my turbo swap?
I also have the mods in my sig.

I don't have a tuner on my truck to address the higher boost.
I see 29# of boost on my gauge too, however, the computer on the truck is de-fueling when it sees an overboost condition. So I could be laying down 42# of boost and it would not be putting the power down since the fuel would have been limited.
The boost fooler will make the computer think that boost is lower than it actually is and will NOT defuel the motor.
