racing a 12 valve
racing a 12 valve
I am hearing from other people some guy around town is building a 12 valve dont know what year. with 200hp injectors twin turbos, assuming he knows optimal turbo set up. my truck should make around 550to 585 rwhp.do any of you guys think i have a chance or will i get mashed.
200 hp injectors for a 12v is not the same as 200hp injectors for a common rail... you would have to compare the flow rates among other things.
A 12v going into a light 1st gen truck is your bigger issue. A 450hp 12v (he'll likely have more, I am sure) in a 5700lb truck will be faster than a 600hp (more than you have now) CR in a 8000 lb truck for sure.
Bottom line is, you have not won, nor lost, until you actually have won or lost...

The 12 valve can have an edge, its fueling system can be tinkered with alot easier, and things like rpms and timing can be altered pretty quickly. If you have a 12 valve turning 4k rpms with 450hp or more you are looking at a close race. But honestly too many factors can make or break the race. Heel and toe brother.
