BD Triple Dog Torque management
Yeah, I've had the "low end power" engaged before- its fun. Too bad you can't turn that on and off without reloading the entire program on the truck.
I'm talking about the "torque management" option where you have to call BD and get the code to enter in the downloader to enable it- is it the same thing, or something different?

well i know that in chevy trucks the torque management basically pulls timing out right before the trans shifts to help extend the life of the transmission. after it shift to the next gear it goes back to normal timing parameters. this was on 99-06 silverado's so take it for what its worth, but should be about the same concept for these trucks

If you are talking about the "torque management" and not the low-end option, then I think this I can explain.
The main method of "torque management" that is used involves input from the trans input sensor, trans output sensor, rpm, and engine load. When you remove the TM with the BDTD, it apparently disables/shuts off the PRNDL which probably fools the ECM concerning the input and output sensors.
I had a chance to mess with this. Even with just STOCK levels of power, with the torque management eliminated, you could roast the tires for BLOCKS!!!

Unless Bully Dog has changed the Unlock Code for the Torque Management delete option, it was derived from the BDTD serial number. I think it was the 13th character, 11th character, 9th character and 7th character of the serial number in that order. I sold mine a while back, but I am pretty sure that is the code that will unlock the option. At least that was on the early versions.
