Question Anyone using the White Night rear light system?

How'd all, just returned from a 4 month deployment overseas and I'm ready to get back in the mix again. First item of business is something Dodge should have done right. Something I realized after returning home is how I can no longer put up with the poor rear backup lights on my 04.5, I've started looking at purchasing the White Night rear light system (model #4199 for $65.96). Looking for comments from you folks who may have this item, hows the quality of the item, ease of installation and does it output as advertised? From what I understand, it uses H3 bulbs that are replaceable. Being such I'd most likely go with a set of H3 Sylvania Silverstars to brighten things up a bit more. Tell me what y'all think.

They are very bright but are not very strong... I busted a couple lights out backing up to hook up trailers and I finally took mine off.

I can't go into the details on the price, but if I get good replies about this item I may be able to help out other members who may be interested in it.

White Night Backup Lights

I installed them about a month ago. I have the permanent receiver model. I love the added lighting at night. Install was pretty straight forward. Provides taps to use on wiring going into the 7 pin connector. Now I can backup at night with my mirrors. The casing is rather thin plastic and if they were on the off road truck, I dont think they would last long. I stuck in one of the hitches to keep from backing into something and breaking them. They do require a reciever hitch that has 3 1/2 inches from the pin hole to the beginning of the down plate or downplate braces. Two of my 4 hitches are long enough to work.

Do you have to remove the lights to change your drawbar? It appears so...and that's the biggest reason I've never bought them.

If you are talking about the hitch itself, no. There is enough room behind the light case to unlock the hitch pin and remove it. You do need to notch the bottom of the bracket some for the safety chain hooks, but easy enough to do.

had one on my 02 toyota double cab. they work good-but are not great on quality. plastic is flimsy and after a couple of months there was condensation in the lenses. a nice set up if you are looking for a quick and simple install. i prefer a kc or piaa back light set up-they will last longer.
