White Night Backup Light System

Has anyone got these installed on their 3rd Gen Truck?

If so, was it a true BOLT-ON? If not, what mods had to be done to make it work?

I have had them installed since last October.

It is a very simple install. All the correct wiring and wire taps came with the set. It took about 15mins to do it all.

They work well and have not given me any trouble so far. Light is good at night, I can use the mirrors now to backup at night.

NOW the downside. The bottom of the case covers some access to the safety chain slots. I just took a dremel tool and in 5 minutes corrected that issue. You have to use the longer hitch inserts because the White Nights sticks out past the end of the reciever over an inch. I had 4 different drop inserts, but only one of the longer ones.

I have a complete set of backup lights, relay, switches and wiring harness that I was going to install, but the White Nights was a quick and simple solution. I needed more light at night. When I break the White Nights I will install the other set. I am surprised that I have not nuked them yet. I have not missed the trailer far enough to wipe'm out, but I am sure I will.

They sell 2 wiring versions. One plugs directly into the factory outlet and the other you have to splice. It looks like you have the spliced version.

Did you have to do a lot of wiring cutting and splicing???

No cutting, just unwrapped the wiring loom going to the 7-Pin connector and tapped there using the supplied taps. Then re-wrapped the with the OE wire loom and taped with electrical tape. I have had no issues so far.
