hi guys,i did a ton of searching on this mod and now im having some probs,how many guys have it enabled on a 04 6spd?{305/555}.i read it can be done,i got the cummins part and installed acording to directions,i read it and looked and even got wifeys opinion on where pin 22 was,im sure i have it right,took it to the dealer to get her enabled and the tech hooked me up and said it was enebled already but it no worky.i checked my ground and even moved it to another stud just in case.still nothing,if its enebled i must have the wrong pin?or do some 04s just not work, the tech said it would never work on a stick,i told him about the pin on #22 and he looked at me like i was insane.he said"you grounded whatTTTTTT????''.am i crazy or do dodge techs not read these forums to keep up on stuff.how can jo blo know more than a certified tech? anyway any ideas guys??? thanx dave

 

I was not aware you could do it on an 04. only the 04.5 and newer. But in the event you can, are you sure he was looking at the correct high idle. There is two. One that happens automatically, (when cold). and the other when you play with the buttons. I would find someone you know with a BDDL or a superchips flashpaq, and have them turn it on. That way U are able to verify. I hate going into the dealer and knowing more than the tech.

Next time, i would not mention to your dealer you are grounding different pins on your $2k ecm...... I can see future warranty problems.

I did not read your sig till after i wrote. Does the predator effect the high idle. WHen i flash with my superchips flashpaq, i lose the high idle setting. i then have to turn it back on with the programmer. maybe its the predator?

 

thats an excellent question,i did put it back to stock before i took it in,my waranty is almost up anyways,which bullydaog will do the high idle?i bought a powerpup and a quad race box here and they will be shipped to me shortly,i only wanted the quadbox so i will be selling the powerpup unless its useful to me.i did a bunch of reading here on the high idle thing and a few guys have it working on an 04.your rite maybe the tech wasnt looking at the right thing,i assumed he would know what he was doing,i should have printed off the instructions that i also got off this site. this place rocksssss

 

Not sure if the power pup does that or not. I know that you are able to activate the high idle without it being unlocked from another vehicle. What i mean is, if your buddy had a superchips, he could leave it vin locked to his vehicle and walk over to yours and turn it on. Regardless, did u put the diablo back on after you left the dealer? maybe that is disableing it like the flashpaqs used to.

Pretty easy. Took me about an hour to install dinking around. I have lowering brackets on my sway bar which made one extra step. Really helps makes things solid.

 

If I'm not mistaken the 03/04 has a differant ecm then 04.5 up and NOT capable of the high idle with cruise.

 

i did lots of research aand even contacted a couple of guys with 04s and 6spds and they said it works,i think 03s wont work.theres a big electronocs change from 03 to 04.my dads 03 has a throttle cable and my 04 has electronic throttle thingy.its suposed to work but who knows,when i took her in they checked the tsb. 18-04-004 and they said its for my truck but the tech said it was already enabled,maybe ill use a stick hahaha,actually i contated johan at diablo and he says when he gets a free minute he will look into adding it to the predator.

 

My 03 has no throttle cable.

 

it may not be a cable but he has linkage and a large black plastic thing on the drivers side of the engine which mine doesnt have.but all the reading i did on here said no go on the 03s but the 04s should work.who knows what dodge does with their electronics,i bought a box made for an04 and tried 3 of them thinking they were defective,turned out my truck liked the box made for an 05.go figure.

 

houndog what exactly is a 03 ho?is it a 325/600?mine is a 305/555 and as far as i know its a so.i thought the hos didnt come out till 04.5 with the 325 motors,maybe you have a 04.5 motor in there

 

There were 03 S.O. and H.O. H.O. was a option and not available in Caif.in 03. H.O. was a 305 h.p. S.O. was like 250.If yours is 305 h.p. its NOT a S.O. In fact the S.O. came in a couple of h.p. versions a Calif. and the other states. I bought mine new and know what engine it has. Mine does not have the ENGINE MOUNTED APPS(large black round thing as you call it) on the side of the motor.Its under the battery box drivers side.

 

so in 03 a ho is 305hp and 04.5 a ho is 325hp.my dads 03 is 305hp and his "apps" is on the engine.what engine is that?anyway im hoping any 04 guys with the high idle enabled will chime in and give the skinny on this debate

 

What engine?? Some early ones it was mounted on the intake.H.P. wasn't a factor.I think auto and stick was differant as the auto has a vacumn tank if I'm not mistaken for cruise operation and the sticks do not.
