All round best lift pump/filter system
How do you avoid elec. pumps? The mech. pumps went with the 12 valves. I've had the same Walbro for 7 years and I carry a spare for $115. I put on a test gauge whenever I change filters to be sure it's OK. It hasn't lost a lb. I put a 2µ ahead of the CP3 and use the oem for a prefilter and water trap. Craig
You go mechanical LP from one of the three vendors I posted, simple. Electric pumps fail. You have been lucky, I'm happy for you. But at the end of the day a mechanical lift is far more reliable.
Well if mechanical pumps went with the 12v so did the reliability of a electric motor with brushes. Do a search and you will find countless failures, to the point it seems people have accepted it. The common theme is well they sent me a new pump under warranty, but that's not acceptable to me. I can't afford down time on my DD.
This discussion has played itself out on many forums, and the common theme is the Failure rate of electric pumps is insanely high. Some have good luck for years, some don't. I don't like rolling the dice when the odds are not in MY favor.

as stated the mechanical is the very best. mount a 2micron and a w/s pre filter near the tank and run from the mechanical to the filters then back to the stock filter. if fore some reason you have something in the way preventing mounting the mechanical a distant second option is to use a brushless pump
