Airdog Questions

Hi, I have a few questions about the airdog. My truck is a 2003
I have the stock lift pump up on the motor not the intank pump.
Will I use the stock in tank pick up ?
Will the airdog bypass the stock filter canister/fuel heater ?
My truck has some performance mods now, at what point should I go to the 150gph pump over the 100gph ?
Any advantage to the 100gph over the 150gph ?
Any place have the installation directions online?

I believe if you use the 100 airdog then it uses the 3/8 line. Just unplug the line at the tank and plug in the airdog line. If you get the 150 airdog it uses the 1/2 in line which requires a new draw straw for the 1/2 inch.

if you get the 150 but the extra fuel is not needed, the fuel gets recirculated back through the system. on the plus side, you're fuel gets a second run through the filtration system- i don't know if doing this continuously puts undue wear on the system or reduces the life of the filters.

I went with the 150 for the 1/2" line. One plus to the 150 is that your stock system can still be used if needed. All you have to do is put the fuel line back on the CP3 and reconnect the fuel pump plug. I do not think I will ever have to do this but just in case it is there. As for instructions, it is pretty easy. You may have to play with the mounting bracket just a bit but that depends on your frame. The wiring is simple. If you do the draw straw I highly suggest lifting the bed and leaving the tank in place. This will ensure that you will have 1/8" gap under the pickup tube. The kit is a nice kit and comes with everything you will need.

Super G,
Both the AirDog 100 & 150 have the 1/2' lines. There is such a little cost difference between the two, we just said "the heck with it" and put it in both install kits. Our website is under construction, we will be putting the install manuals on it soon. There will be lots of really interesting stuff on it before its over.

I emailed Toby about the bracket and the wiring for the 04.5 with the intank pump upgrade. I was just wondering you have seen the pictures or the email that I sent.

The Airdog is an awesome unit.... I used one of the very first models on my 2002 CTD. The truck has work perfectly for the last 5+ years. I recently purchased a new 2007 5.9L CTD and the first mod was one of the new Airdog 150. This is the quietest pump I have ever heard. there is absolutely no noise inside the cab! The installation is clean and simple + the pump mounts in a great location with no frame drilling.

I would highly recommend this pump to any guys looking for a great supply pump solution!

Doug

I had a nice conversation with Charlie today (owner of air dog) and he had Diane email me a ton of info on the Air Dog. It is amazing what this thing will do and the BS that is claimed by FASS. I can't believe what happened with that situation. FASS is in trouble in my opinion with legal issues (and is on the carpet for it as well). AIR DOG ALL THE WAY!

Thanks Charlie

looks like I'll have to patiently wait for the PureFlo site to be updated.

BTW, I appreciate the fact that the AirDog site actually explains how the unit maximizes performance, instead of just saying it does. Wins a whole lot more points in my book.
