I just installed mine on Thursday evening and took a trip on Friday. I already got good mpg: about 21 to 21.5 on freeway at 70 plus and 22 and slightly better on 2 lane roads at 60. The first leg of my trip, when I stopped for the night, I filled up and it was a bit over 23 mpg. The total trip with quite a few stops and a little adverse wind netted 22.7. This was driving mostly freeway at 70 plus.

I can tell you I saw a 2mpg over stock mileage-- I always hand calc-- from 19 to 21 on my truck. Your results may vary!! I used sw3-- the 100hp file.

It is hand calculated. I keep a calculator in the truck and figure every tank. I was running on the 40 hp. economy setting. The air mods and turbo hose helped about the same as Smarty. I am very pleased. When I put my tonneau cover back on and summer fuel is back, I expect to get evern more.

Test Run

Just got my smarty jr today and installed the 'economy' software.

Ran a 140 mi. round trip on intestate with cruise control set at 65.
Temperature was 65 deg and not much wind.
After correcting miles traveled per GPS reading I come up with 23.38 mpg.

I had run the same course on 11/17 stock and came up with 22.86 mpg.

To be meaningful, however, I would need to do a couple more runs
and check how it averages out.

I removed my Rokktech yesterday and I didn't notice any timing rattle
today but I really didn't put it thru the paces, just an economy run.

Thanks Bob, for the prompt shipment, nice little package.

Larry

A little update: 12/6/07

I made a little longer insterstate run today with smarty jr. still on
'economy'. Cruise control set at 65mph.

Ambient temp = 47 -> 49 deg.
Distance traveled = 193.8 mi. (gps reading)
fuel used 8.58 gal.
mpg = 22.59

So although not as good as the first test still a good reading.

But since these readings are within the normal range of 'scatter'
I had previously run as stock then I can't say without doubt
I am getter better mpg with the smarty.

I do feel, however, I have a 'better fed and managed engine'
with no loss in economy, which pleases me.

So thumbs up to Marko for a great product. Looking forward
to trying the beta or the released version of the beta
sometime in the future.

Larry

Has anyone had a chance to tow with it yet? I wonder how it would compare to the quad standard? I have the quad now. I would need some justification to buy the smarty. But I'll tell you this, I WANT ONE....

Before you removed the Rokktech, did you have a noticeable timing rattle?

Your mileage run with or without the Rokktech?

Soulezoo I have a question about your mileage gain. My truck is all stock 235hp with a cat and your truck has several mods including trans work. My question is would your mileage gain be misleading with all those mods.I have been told that even upgrading the TC I would gain some mpg. Not saying your gain is not accurate but does the mods contribute to make the jr more effective?

Sorry, didn't notice your post until now.

No, never had a timing rattle.

The one a couple weeks ago was with the Rokktech , no smarty.
The last test was without the Rockktech but with the smarty jr on 'economy'.
