If you are talking about the air filter box, then I agree. Save the money and make your own. Get a drop in filter and remove the turbo silencer. If you are talking about the intake on the other side of the charge air cooler than I recommend the ATS or the CFM+. Either way this mod won't get you much without doing others as well. IMHO You are better off starting with a tuner.

If you do not want to modify your stock setup, and be able to return it to stock later, then I suggest an AFE MegaCannon.

It comes with a new intake tube and air box, you also get a pro-guard 7 AFE re-usable filter, with all the neccesary clamps and hardware. I looked at one that was installed on a new 6.7 at the Dishman Dodge lot, very nice!
(you can substitute a Cool Blue Hose in place of the intake tube)

It is far better than either of your two choices of K&N or Banks.

Like said above...Cut a 4" hole in the bottom of the stock box, add about 2' of drain pipe to the bottom, gut the intake tube and remove the silencer ring. Costs maybe $10 and works just as good as a $400 intake. Oh yeah, and add a free flowing drop in filter.
