Question Air filter selection

OK, you guys got my head spinning so **** fast I can't think straight! With my budget I am going to put together my own intake for my truck(thanks willys53), the tubing and elbows are the easy part, but what about the air filter. I really want to do this once, I don't have the time or the money to be screwing around with trying different filters. I want one that I can reuse/clean, but the thing that confuses me the most is the oil type filters. I don't want to use one if it could mess up the engine in anyway. Is the amsoil a dry filter? I was also looking at the AFE proguard-7, but I think it only has a 4.5 inch outlet. Any help is much appreciated. Also, does anybody know where I can get the tube welded for the iat sensor in Mountain Home ID, or Boise if I have to go that far?

As far as the Amsoil filter, it is a dry filter.
To clean is simply as pull blow an go.
Hope this helps a little.

Maybe it's a little early for everyone yet.

I got a Cool Blue Hose to replace my stock intake hose from the turbo to the air box. It was certainly worth the bucks, insulates the intake air from the exhaust. I believe the ID of the hose is 4". You could get a piece of 4" OD tubing and drill it for the sensor to fit, I believe there is a template with measurements for this in the ****** information. Then all you would need is to remove your stock air box and put the Amsoil EaAU 4091 nano filter on.

I was not looking to save bucks so I bought the ICE BOX Intake, it replaces your stock box, has welded in tubing, allready for the sensor, and uses the 4091 Amsoil Filter. You can c/o here http://www.iceboxmanufacturing.com

Maybe not the reply you were seeking, but it is at least a reply.

AFE filters can be purchased with 4" or 6" outlet sizes, oiled or dry. AFE Standard or Pro Guard 7 filters are oiled filters. The AFE Pro Dry S is a dry filter and can be cleaned as stated above for dry filter. The Pro Dry S may only be available with the 6" outlet, not sure. I have had all of the AFE filters. They work fine either way as long as cleaned and/or oiled properly. I have the AFE 6" outlet Pro Dry S filter on currently.
