Advice needed, More air???

I need some help here and it seems like there is some expertise here. To be brief, I put a smarty JR on my ride and now after a few hard excel. runs the filter minder is way intoo the yellow. I reset it and did ONE run and it is back in the yellow again. I am running a stock airbox with an Amsoil filter. Seems like I need more air! any suggestions?

My stock truck with a new filter would suck the filter minder down.

Cheap option #1. Swiss cheese the air box,
Cheap option #2. Get 2.5' of 4" non perforated corrigated drain pipe and a 3"x4" PVC adapter. Cut a hole in the bottom of the air box and inset the adapter. Attach the 4" pipe to it and run down between the frame and inner fender(straight down) trim to fit after secured. I dropped a conical critter guard in the top just in case I caught a Ford or Chevy.

Option #2 give you a cold air intake which test have shown HP drop with an increase in intake air temperature.

X2 ! Nobody makes option #2 (cold air intake), do they? I think you can find a aftermarket air intake.

If they did, it would be far more expensive than the <$30 it cost me from Home Depot for the parts to do it myself.

Here's my Home Depot Special, and it cost me only $11 Toilet flange, some flex drain pipe, and some nuts n bolts. 30 minutes worth of labor. I've never pulled the filter minder down since I put in the Amsoil air filter.
