when i put my edge juice on my truck they said i didnt need to change the boost elbow.What dose it do and do i need to install it?

 

An boost elbow, has an orifice in it, and a very small hole vented to atmosphere. This delays the boost signal to the wastegate keeping it closed longer to build more boost. An adjustable elbow, has a set screw in it instead of an orifice allowing you to better dial in maximum boost. Keep in mind, that the stock turbo starts getting out of its efficiency range at 30 psi, and is out of it by 32 psi.

for sure out of it at 32psi? before i pinched wastegate line id hit 1500 egts in 4 seconds with 25 psi max boost.Now when i pinch wastegate line i can hit 40 psi and it takes a minute to hit 1300 egt.

 

The benefit of having a boost elbow is to lower the EGTs. When I installed the Edge EZ my EGTs jumped to 1300 degrees. Later I added the boost elbow and the EGTs dropped down to 900 degrees.

see i cant add the boost elbow on my truck. theres no where to add it.

The boost elbow is only for the '03-04 models. The 04.5 and newer uses a electronic wastegate.
