SBC Ductile Iron Flywheel

Anybody know anything about this new flywheel they are coming out with. Looks like the main difference is price and the non certification. Is this a big deal for someone who doesnt sled pull? also, what is the difference between a sprung and unsprung, which do i want? I am looking to buy next couple of days, and want to do this once. there is a waiting list on the ductile flywheel...that is what the sig means. I have talked with peter a few times, but havent had a chance to speak with him on this matter. would like to be in a 600hp range with twins. thats it....i swear

3250 12cb

or

3600

I think the 3250 would be just fine but I prefer overkill so I got the 3600, plus you can sled pull with it better than teh 3250 if you do so decide.

I see no reason to get the sprung hub. I have seen no downsides but it mainly take out driveline vibes and is quieter at idle.

The 3600 is gona have a heavier pedal, if that bothers you get the 3250, if not get the 3600.

The ductile flywheel is non sfi certified correct? Is that not a requirment for sled pull?

I havent talked with Peter about the flywheel. I dont know what the price diff is but if it wasnt much I would go ahead and get the SFI flywheel. But like I said, I like overkill.

I went with the 3850 sprung hub and love it. What's overkill?

There is a huge difference between a solid hub and a sprung hub. Solid hub is obviously stronger in heavy sled pullin applications but if you only do it a few times a season get the sprung hub. solid hubs are much harder on the input shaft and all the other drivetrain conponents

I would recomend the 12 cb, it will be smoother then the 6cb and is better for DD and sled pullin. The 6 cb really only is better for drag racing.
